Salem Dream Center began as an outreach of West Salem Foursquare Church in 2003. It was first the vision of Todd Gould who has since gone on to be the Executive Director of the Salem Free Medical Clinic.
The Salem Free Medical Clinic began in the gym of Walker Middle School as part of Salem Dream Center, and it was the result of faithful people knocking on doors in Edgewater asking “what can we do to help make your life better?”
“We need medical care” was an urgent request, and as a result, the clinic was born. Since its creation, it has grown into its own, having four locations and serving an average of 790 people each month.
Dream Center began with one goal: to build relationships and learn what those in the Edgewater community needed.
Since that first day in October of 2003, Dream Center has grown and expanded becoming an valued support system in our city, one that has received awards and recognition from the city of Salem, the Mayor, Polk County and West Salem Business Association.
October 1, 2013, West Salem Foursquare began working to launch Salem Dream Center into the community. What that means is this: Salem Dream Center will now be an independent non-profit organization reaching out to those in our community who are in need. WSFC continues to support our efforts, but will be releasing us to become a city-wide supported group.
We have and will continue to provide the same programs that we have for the past 10 years and with God’s favor expand reaching more and more people, providing hope and reducing starvation mentality.
Now more than ever, we desire your prayers. We sincerely appreciate your volunteer time and we need your generous donations.
Please help us reach those in our community who have little to no hope and help them to dream.
